LINDA'S PHOTOGRAPHY

Back in 1966 a young Linda Eastman was working as an office assistant at the glossy New York society magazine Town & Country. One Summer day in June 1966 she opened an invitation to a press reception that was being given on a yacht for the Rolling Stones to promote their new album Aftermath. Linda decided to take up the invitation herself as she was quite sure that no-one else on the staff would really like to see The Stones anyway. So off she went to the Press reception armed with her trusty Pentax and shot around 6 rolls of film of the band. And the rest as they say is history. Linda's photos of the Rolling Stones remain some of the best ever shot of the group, if not the best. These photos were the beginning of a career that was to last her lifetime with her photographing everyone from The Beatles to Jimi Hendrix to Janis Joplin to Ray Charles, the list goes on and on. Besides snapping the famous she also took some magic photos of her family or whatever subject appealed to her at the time. All of her photos have stood the test of time and Linda remains today one of the most influential photographers of our time.

This was Linda's first photography book published in 1976
